Our 3-Hole Drilling service provides a fully custom fit and drilling for thumb + two finger holes, the standard setup for bowlers who place their thumb inside the ball. This is the most common and complete drilling service, ideal for:

• Bowlers getting a brand-new fit

• Players whose hand shape or flexibility has changed over time

• Converting a ball drilled for someone else

• Bowlers improving comfort, release, or overall performance

• Anyone wanting a precise, professional grip tailored to their hand

This 3-Hole Drilling service is intended for balls not purchased at Virtue.

What’s Included:

1. Full Professional Fit Evaluation

Your hand is measured using industry-standard fitting tools, including:

• Digital calipers

• Span gauges

• Pitch assessment tools

• Fitting balls and flexibility checks

We can also duplicate the fit from an existing ball that you already like.

This process ensures precise:

• Span

• Thumb and finger hole sizes

• Forward/reverse and lateral pitch

• Release angle optimization

• Comfort and repeatability

2. Precise Drilling & Layout Setup

We prepare your ball using precision jigs and milling equipment to drill the holes accurately based on:

• Your fit

• Your release style

• Desired ball motion

• Preferred grip type (fingertip, conventional, semi-fingertip, etc.)

3. Finishing & Comfort Work

We bevel and shape each hole to eliminate sharp edges and create the smoothest possible exit from the ball — essential for bowlers who use their thumb.

Turnaround Time:

• Same-day or next-day, depending on shop volume and additional services requested.
  3-hole drilling typically requires more time than 1- or 2-hole drilling because it involves the full fitting process.
